I got a new favorite band here, the named is States. This band was started play music for a long time ago. Mindy White the lead singer, used to be the lead singer from the band Lydia. And the rest of the guys are from Copeland. I like the way how Mindy's singing and playing her keyboard. Her voice is so angelic.If you really wanna hear this band from Nashville, you better listening to Time To Begin, Falling For, Another Chapter, Anxious, and so on. Oh btw, this Mindy girl is also Hayley Williams' best friend, the lead singer of Paramore

Last night was fun. I went to Pattiseries Francois, Gandaria City with my girlfriends. We had dinner, we had gossips, we had photos, and we had this stupid conversations that anyone won't know. Haha.

I chose this video because I miss listening this song lately. I love how the lead singer sang it and scream a little when he says "We're goin' down, down, in an earlier round. This video is ahmahzing! Joe Jonas is so hot! Well actually, I love the story of the video. It showed that Joe himself really fell in love with the girl. I love their 'romantic' scene. It's not 'porno' at all. But I think it's sweet! And the video was shoted at Paris. Romantic place :)

Glitters on my nails

Have I told you that I love nail polish so much? I looove the colors that covered my nails. I like to play the colors or mixed it up. I used to wear pink, peach, purple, black, maroon and so on. REM frontman Michael Stipe has announced the band will split if another member of the band leaves. The band was left as a three-piece when former drummer Billy Berry decided to leave the band ten years ago. Despite continuing without Berry, Stipe insists the band will quit if either guitarist Peter Buck or bassist Mike Mills decide to walk.Stipe says, "If two members had left, we'd have to do something different."People miss out on one key thing about when Bill left music to be a jobbing farmer."The first thing he said to us was, 'If I'm going to be the guy that breaks up REM them I'll stay and be miserable and, in some limited capacity, I will still be the drummer of REM. Well, it's too bad to hear that news. REM is one of my favorite band when I was at Junior High. I even have their favorite songs : Night Swimming, Man On The Moon, Losing My Religion, Everbody Hurts, and Shinny Happy People. But I guess now it'll be Not so Shinny Happy People again :'(

Lately, I  really don't know what to write. Because I was so busy. Busy me. Busy like crazy. Busy bee. And so on. Almost everyday, I got back from the office after 8 pm. Crazy, huh? So that means I really don't have a time to write something. Phew! And now, the weekend's came, but I still don't know what to write. Eeeeek! H.E.L.P me, I'm losing my inspiration. Meanwhile, my brain can't stop thinking about WORK! Oh my, I became a workaholic I guess!

The Music Never Stopped

Sudah pernah ada yang nonton film lama yang berjudul Lorenzo's Oil kah? Film The Music Never Stopped ini kurang lebih hampir sama persis ceritanya. Yaitu mengenai orang tua yang berjuang untuk menyembuhkan anak semata wayangnya dari penyakit, agar bisa sembuh seperti sedia kala. Film ini menurut saya sangat bagus, karena based on true story dan terutama karena saya juga pecinta musik. Bercerita mengenai orang tua (sang ayah yang lebih berjuang) untuk menyembuhkan anaknya yang baru saja terkena tumor otak. Tumornya sudah hilang, namun efeknya lah yang menjadi masalah. Efeknya yaitu, sang anak menjadi short termed memory, alias mudah lupa dan terkadang suka tidak bisa mengendalikan emosi yang digerakkan dari otak. Cara menyembuhkannya yaitu, sang anak selalu disuguhkan oleh musik-musik yang selama ini selalu atau pernah dia dengar. Dengan bantuan seorang terapi musik, sang anak dibantu agar pelan-pelan memori nya bisa sempurna kembali. Dari mulai musik The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Buffalo Springfield, The Grateful Dead, dll. Berhubung film ini banyak menyajikan adegan flashback, maka banyak sekali tahun-tahun yang dilewati. Contohnya saat sang anak masih kecil, adegan dibawa ke tahun 1950-an, kemudian saat sang anak sedang berada di bangku SMA, tahun 1970-an lah yang ditampilkan. Filmnya sendiri bersetting tahun 1986.

Hanya dalam waktu beberapa bulan, pelan-pelan memori sang anak bisa bangkit kembali. Dia bisa mengingat saat dimana dia sedang menjadi seorang pemberontak dan kabur dari rumah, saat pertama kali jatuh cinta dengan seorang wanita, dan saat bandnya manggung di acara sekolah. Sepanjang film saya terharu melihat perjuangan  kedua orang tua tersebut. Bahkan saat sang ayah dirawat di Rumah Sakit, dia tetap berjuang menelpon stasiun radio yang sedang mengadakan kuis, untuk mendapatkan 2 tiket konser band The Grateful Dead. Yang akhirnya memang dimenangkan, dan diberikan kepada sang anak. Terharu sekali saya! Adegan sedihnya adalah, saat sang ayah meninggal, dan tidak akan pernah kembali lagi untuk mengunjungi anaknya seperti dulu. Secara keseluruhan menurut saya filmnya bagus, akting para pemain juga maksimal, namun alur cerita berjalan sedikit lambat. Mungkin sebagian orang yang tidak suka dengan film yang beradegan flashback, tidak disarankan untuk menonton film ini. Hanya satu yang kurang menurut saya, yaitu saat diakhir cerita, tidak ditunjukkan bagaiman kelanjutan atau akhiran dari cerita sang anak tersebut. Tidak seperti film-film based on true story lainnya, yang biasanya diakhir cerita dijelaskan seperti apa keadaan sebenarnya si tokoh film tersebut. Karena saya penasaran, saat ini apakah yang telah terjadi dengan si Gabriel Sawyer, sang anak tersebut.

Damn, I love music so much

Remember when I wrote about how much I really love music? Even in my Facebook, Twitter, Friendster and Blogspot profile, I wrote "I love music so much! I really do". Well, for a million times, I still not bored to say or to write that I loooooove music so much! So, I am so grateful because in this world, there are lots of multi talented musicians / band / entertainer and so on. Thank you, thank you, thank you once again to The Beatles, Dashboard Confenssional, Coldplay, Maroon 5, No Doubt, Oasis, Blur, Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Maliq & D'essentials, Hanson, The Corrs, The Like, Michelle Branch, Avril Lavigne, Lisa Loeb, Alanis Morrisette, The Cardigans, Live, Weezer, Snow Patrol, and the rest, for making some great music so that my ears have a chance to listening it.

Goodbye Medan, till we meet again

I went to Tjong A Fie mansion, Istana Maimoon, Pasar Central, Kampung Keling, and my Grandparents grave yard. I am so proud that at least I've known a little bit about my 'root'. Dear Medan, you made my Idul Fitri so wonderful. I really cannot wait to see you again, really soon! :)

Hellooooo there..long time I didn't write my blog. There are so many things I'd like to write and upload the photos. But before that, I really want to say 'Selamat Hari Raya Idul Fitri, mohon maaf lahir dan batin'. Ow ow..by the way, I went to Medan for about a week, and celebrated the Idul Fitri with my whole family there. It's so nice being back there, after errr..17 years! And yeah, I really cannot imagine how Medan now became a crowded city with the same bad traffic as Jakarta. But still, I love being there! I mean I love..love..love..love it! Later, I will post some photos when I was at Medan. Enjoy! :)
